HUD-DOT-EPA Partnership for Sustainable Communities
The Partnership for Sustainable Communities was created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the Department of Transportation (DOT) to provide grants to promote affordable housing, transportation options, and sustainable development. The grants are available to multi-jurisdiction and multi-sector partnerships, as well as regional consortia of state and local governments, metropolitan planning organizations, educational institutions, and philanthropic organizations. Goals of the program include addressing challenges worsened by climate change, including air pollution and stormwater runoff, in creating sustainably designed and developed communities which are safer, healthier and protect the environment.
