Climate Change Adaptation: Addressing Heat-Related Morbidity and Mortality among Seniors in New York City

This presentation was given as part of a webinar series presented by the American Public Health Association, entitled "Climate Change: Mastering the Public Health Role." The presentation was given in Session 1 of the series airing on March 2, 2011 entitled  "A Look at State and Local Climate Change Action Planning."

The presentation demonstrates the risks of heat-related mortality, with a particular focus on aging populations, and presents New York City's Heat Wave Adaptation Program. It provides advice for public health messaging and community education and outreach.
