Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program

The Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) program (CFDA Number: 97. 047) provides funding to support states, territories, Indian tribal governments, communities, and universities for hazard mitigation planning and the implementation of mitigation projects prior to a disaster event. This program promotes implementation of activities designed to reduce injuries, loss of life, and damage and destruction to property from natural hazards.  PDM grants are to be awarded on a competitive basis and without reference to state allocations, quotas, or other formula-based allocation of funds.

Regional Wetland Program Development Grants assist State, Tribal, and local government agencies, as well as interstate/intertribal entities in building programs which protect, manage, and restore wetlands. FEMA Severe Repetitive Loss Program

The Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL) grant program provides funding to states, territories, and local and federally-recognized Indian tribal governments to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk of flood damage to severe repetitive loss (SRL) of structures insured under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Eligible activities under this program include: acquisition and relocation of at-risk structures and the conversion of property to open space; elevation of existing structures to the Base Flood Elevation (BFE) or an ABFE Advisory Base Flood Elevation (ABFE) or higher (for the SRL program Mitigation Reconstruction is only permitted when traditional elevation cannot be implemented); minor physical localized flood control projects; and dry-flood proofing (historic properties only).

Santa Clara Valley Water District Climate Change Portal

This web portal allows users to search for reports and other technical literature on the subject of climate change. Although focused on the Santa Clara Valley in California, the portal draws from state, local, and national reports from across the country and is thus useful to state and local governments across the country. Users can search for reports based on topics (including adaptation), date, and keyword. There are also special links to reports and websites on sea-level rise, groundwater, and climate change.

NOAA Sea Level Rise Viewer

This online mapping tool, hosted by the NOAA Coastal Services Center's Digital Coast, allows users to observe the effects of sea level rise on the coast. Being able to visualize potential impacts from sea level rise can be a powerful teaching and planning tool, and the Sea Level Rise Viewer brings this capability to coastal communities.

The Transportation Research Board's (TRB) Research In Progress (RiP) Database and data-entry system allows users in the U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT), state DOTs, University Transportation Centers (UTCs) and other USDOT-funded universities to add, modify, and delete information on their current research projects.
