Climate Change and Public Health in Utah
2012
This report provides an overview and description of the influence of environmental factors on climate change and public health in Utah, along with information about what can be done personally to protect health and reduce the risks of climate change. This report was developed by Utah's Environmental Epidemiology Program within the Division of Disease Control and Prevention with collaboration from other state agencies.

Climate Vulnerability Monitor
2012
The Climate Vulnerability Monitor (2nd Ed. ) measures the global impact of climate change and the carbon economy at a national level. It calculates and compares the vulnerability for 184 countries in four areas of impact (environmental disasters, habitat change, health impact and industry stress) using 34 climate and carbon related indicators. The report is the second to be issued by an ongoing international research program on climate-related vulnerability mandated to the independent humanitarian and development research organization, DARA.

EPA Vulnerability Assessments in Support of the Climate Ready Estuaries Program: A Novel Approach Using Expert Judgment, Volume I: Results for the San Francisco Estuary Partnership (Final Report)
January 2012
The San Francisco Estuary Partnership (SFEP) and the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) have been collaborating with the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on an ecologic vulnerability assessment of the San Francisco estuary system to climate change under EPA’s Climate Ready Estuaries (CRE) Program.

Climate Change and the Pacific Islands: Indicators and Impacts
December 2012
The Pacific Islands Regional Climate Assessment (PIRCA) produced this report on climate change impacts, indicators, and adaptive capacity of Hawai‘i and the U.S.-affiliated Pacific Islands, with the support of nearly 100 scientific experts and practitioners. The report was a regional contribution integrated into the Third National Climate Assessment.

Ready or Not: An Evaluation of State Climate and Water Preparedness Planning
April 2012
The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) has evaluated how each state in the U.S. is preparing for water related climate impacts, and shares the results in this comprehensive report. The findings differentiate the best prepared and most engaged states on climate change preparedness issues from those that are largely unprepared and "lagging behind."

Changing Climate, Changing Wildlife: A Vulnerability Assessment of 400 Species of Greatest Conservation Need and Game Species in Michigan
April 2013
The Wildlife Division of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources assessed the climate change vulnerability of 400 animal species in Michigan. Using the Nature Serve Climate Change Vulnerability Index (CCVI) tool, all resident terrestrial game species and all Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN) with enough life history data were assessed. The species considered “vulnerable” to climate change are those expected to experience reductions in range extent or abundance by 2050. The CCVI analysis indicates that 17% of terrestrial game species and 61% of terrestrial and aquatic SGCN are vulnerable in Michigan.

Washington Connected Landscapes Project: Climate-Gradient Corridors Report
August 2011
Prepared by the Washington Wildlife Habitat Connectivity Working Group, this report builds off of a previous (2010) assessment of habitat connectivity patterns for wildlife in Washington. This study factors climate change into the assessment and identifies “climate-gradient corridors” that can support habitat conservation and wildlife migration and response to future changes in climate.

Past and Projected Trends in Climate and Sea Level for South Florida
July 5, 2011
This technical report summarizes trends in sea level rise, coastal climate variability and climate change impacts in south Florida. The report is one deliverable from a South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) project to coordinate issues related to climate change and sea level rise in the region. SFWMD is a state agency that is responsible for managing water resources in a 16-county region that extends from Orlando to Key West, Florida.

Atoll Island States and Climate Change: Sovereignty Implications
October 2011
This article, by two researchers of the United Nations University (UNU) Institute for Advanced Studies, summarizes a working paper in which they examine questions of long-term survival for Atoll Island States. These countries could become uninhabitable or submerged in the course of the next century due to sea-level rise and coastal erosion, exacerbated by stronger tropical cyclones. Prominent vulnerable island nations include Kiribati, Tuvalu, the Marshall Islands and the Maldives.

State of the Birds 2011- Report on Public Lands and Waters
May 3, 2011
This report provides the nation's first assessment of the distribution of birds on public lands and helps public agencies to identify which species have significant cause for conservation in each habitat type. The report assessed the distribution of birds on nearly 850 million acres of public land and 3.5 million square miles of ocean and presents a wide variety of bird habitats including arid lands, oceans and coasts, forests, arctic and alpine, islands, wetlands, and grasslands.
