The Resource Innovation Group (TRIG) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization affiliated with the Center for Sustainable Communities at Willamette University. TRIG’s mission is to foster the development and application of innovative thinking and approaches to complex social-ecological problems, including global climate change. TRIG's approach combines systems thinking with the physical and social sciences, social equity, and change management. They organize, facilitate and work through partnerships with academic institutions, non-profits, private firms, and all levels of government.

The Rising Voices Center for Indigenous and Earth Sciences

Rising Voices is a global community of engaged Indigenous leaders, Indigenous and non-Indigenous environmental experts, students, and scientific professionals, including representatives from tribal, local, state, and federal resource management agencies, academia, tribal colleges, and research organizations. The program is co-administered by the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research/National Center for Atmospheric Research (UCAR|NCAR) and the Livelihoods Knowledge Exchange Network, in partnership with Haskell Indian Nations University, the Indigenous Peoples’ Climate Change Working Group, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management.

Vermont Agency of Natural Resources

Vermont's Agency of Natural Resources (VT ANR) has provided a Climate Change web site which includes information on existing initiatives in Vermont, a general background and history of climate science, Vermont's greenhouse gas emissions data, a library of climate change related materials (including the Governor's Commission on Climate Change archive), a news and events section, suggestions for what citizens can do to make a difference, and the roster of climate change team members.

Vermont State Climate Office

The Vermont State Climate Office is housed within the Department of Geography at the University of Vermont, and is Vermont's AASC Recognized State Climate Office (ARSCO). The State Climate Office web page contains many links to the NCDC database of climate and weather records for Vermont, and acts as a gateway to learn about atmospheric processes and ways of reducing vulnerabilty to climate hazards in an ever-changing climate system.

Virginia Governor's Commission on Climate Change

Governor Timothy M. Kaine established the Governor's Commission on Climate Change in December 2007. The commission was assembled to prepare a plan for Virginia that identifies ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
