The Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) 2012 Water Supply and Infrastructure Master Plan is the water district’s strategy for providing a reliable supply of water for Santa Clara County, California. The Plan identifies the District strategy to continue investments to meet the county’s future water supply needs through at least 2035. The Plan discusses managing for climate change impacts with a focus on drought, and calls for further climate adaptation planning by the District.

Better-Defined Rights and Responsibilities in Marine Adaptation Policy

This issue brief discusses key elements of marine environment adaptation policy, including rights, resources, and governance. The brief recommends establishing better-defined rights and responsibilities for commercial and recreational fisheries in order to create an adaptation portfolio for marine and coastal resources. In addition, the report suggests establishing a broader ocean governance framework that includes comprehensive planning, allocation of dominant use zones and user rights within zones, and ecological standards.

The Florida Oceans and Coastal Council prepared this report in 2009 to provide a foundation for future discussions of the effects of global climate change on Florida's ocean and coastal resources, and to inform Floridians about the current state of scientific knowledge regarding climate change. The report provides a high-level overview of the impacts to infrastructure, human health and the economy, as well as key drivers such as increasing air temperatures, warming ocean temperatures, and sea level rise.

The Socio-Economic Impact of Sea Level Rise in the Galveston Bay Region
June 2009
This report seeks to illustrate the impact that climate change can have on communities in the Galveston Bay region. It focuses on two scenarios of sea-level rise,. 69 meters and 1. 5 meters, and the associated socio-economic impact on the Galveston Bay area for the next 100 years. For each of the model scenarios estimates are given for the impact on displaced populations; the number of buildings impacted and building-related economic losses; industrial, hazardous, superfund, solid waste sites; and water treatment plants.

This report presents the results of a survey of California's local public health officers, conducted between August and October 2007. The survey assessed health officers' concerns about the public health impacts of climate change, their familiarity with programs currently in place that could help to mitigate these health effects, and their information and resource needs to better cope with a changing climate. .

The Coastal Flood Exposure Mapper is an online mapping tool to view flooding hazards potential for the East Coast, West Coast, Gulf of Mexico, and Hawaiian coastal communities in the U.S. The mapper was developed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to promote adaptation planning around coastal flood hazard risks and associated vulnerabilities.
