Vulnerability of New Jersey's Coastal Habitats to Sea Level Rise
January 2007
This report is the product of a study determining which developed areas in coastal New Jersey are vulnerable to sea-level rise in ways that could negatively impact sandy beach and wetland habitats. It is intended to be used in a way that can provide information for coastal management and development decisions.

Climate Change and Forests of the Future: Managing in the Face of Uncertainty
2007
This article offers a conceptual framework for managing forested ecosystems given the uncertainty of the impacts of climate change. The article addresses both mitigation and adaptation strategies. The adaptation strategies presented include resistance options (forestall impacts and protect highly valued resources), resilience options (improve the capacity of ecosystems to return to desired conditions after disturbance), and response options (facilitate transition of ecosystems from current to new conditions).

Land Use Impacts and Solutions to Sea Level Rise in East Central Florida
November 2004
The East Central Florida Regional Planning Council (ECFRPC) was contracted through a grant from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to participate in this study, which included all coastal states along the eastern seaboard - analyzing present and future land use and various coastal policies. This report's focus is on sea level rise and implications for Brevard and Volusia counties of Florida. The maps that accompany illustrate the areas that planners within this region expect will be protected from erosion and inundation in the coming decades.

Urban Planning Tools for Quality Growth, 2002 Supplement
2002
Originally released in 2000, Urban Planning Tools for Quality Growth ( “The Toolbox”) has been a resource for municipalities seeking to create quality neighborhoods and projects, and to balance growth with the preservation of sensitive lands and other precious resources. Envision Utah re-issued this guide with four additional chapters, including one on Urban Forestry. While this is an older publication (2002) it is still useful in understanding the benefits of urban forestry (including the mitigation of urban heat island effect and the absorption of CO2), steps for creating an urban forestry plan, and considerations for species selection and planting.

Safer and Stronger Cities: Strategies for Advocating for Federal Resilience Policy
March 14, 2018
In March 2018, the 100 Resilient Cities (100RC) initiative released the "Safer and Stronger Cities" report with a series of policy recommendations on how the federal government could help support urban resilience initiatives. Five chapters focus on strategies for enhancing resilience through infrastructure, housing, economic development, and public safety. Each chapter provides a background discussion of the resilience challenges for cities; the opportunities to enhance resilience in these focal areas including climate adaptation strategies; and case study examples of local, state, and federal actions to advance resilience in each sector.

Adapt Alaska
2017
Adapt Alaska is a website which hosts information about climate impacts in Alaska, a set of steps for policymakers and planners to create monitoring, mitigation, and adaptation solutions, and various resources and case studies designed to guide the user in developing and funding their own adaptation projects. The website emerged from a collaborative research project—Promoting Coastal Resilience in Arctic Alaska— which included workshops and outreach efforts, during which coastal community resilience workshop participants identified issues they faced from rapidly changing environmental and climate conditions. This learning and planning tool provides both background information about the impacts of climate change on Alaska and resources to adapt to this change, while incorporating considerations of cultural values into strategies.

Santa Clara Valley Water District 2012 Water Supply and Infrastructure Master Plan
October 2012
The Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) 2012 Water Supply and Infrastructure Master Plan is the water district’s strategy for providing a reliable supply of water for Santa Clara County, California. The Plan identifies the District strategy to continue investments to meet the county’s future water supply needs through at least 2035. The Plan discusses managing for climate change impacts with a focus on drought, and calls for further climate adaptation planning by the District.
