From the Center for Planning for Excellence (CPEX), “The View from the Coast” examines local perspectives and projects from across coastal Louisiana related to nonstructural flood risk reduction. The report discusses federal, state and local level decision making and policy implementation, while documenting community-level risk-reduction perspectives towards nonstructural efforts to build resiliency against coastal impacts such as recurrent flooding, sea level rise and storm surge.

Climate Framework for Delaware

The Climate Framework for Delaware, released by Governor Jack Markell on March 2, 2015, details the state’s plans for reducing carbon pollution and preparing for the future impacts of climate change. Summarizing the recommendations from the three workgroups formed under Delaware Executive Order 41- Mitigation, Adaptation, and Flood Avoidance - the Framework describes the actions that state agencies have already taken to mitigate emissions and adapt to impacts, and outlines recommendations for future actions on both fronts.

Sustainable City pLAn - Los Angeles, California
April 8, 2015
City of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti released the Sustainable City pLAn to provide a roadmap for a Los Angeles that is “environmentally healthy, economically prosperous, and equitable in opportunity for all. ” The pLAn is a guide to sustainability policies and actions for all City departments, now and over the next 20 years. A complimentary pLAn website was developed to share the document itself and the vision behind it, as well as to present information on each of the City’s sustainability goals.

State of Corporate Adaptation Survey 2015
June 2015
The University of Notre Dame’s Global Adaptation Index (ND-GAIN) and consultant firm Four Twenty Seven, with support from Business for Social Responsibility, launched and published the 2015 Corporate Adaptation report to generate insights into whether and how enterprises are preparing for the physical impacts of climate change. The report is expected to further the collective understanding of best practices, barriers and enablers, and strategies to prepare for climate change in the corporate world.

The U.S. Department of Transportation's "Transportation Climate Change Sensitivity Matrix" is an Excel spreadsheet tool that includes detailed information about the sensitivity of different types of transportation assets to climate stressors. It is designed to be used in the process of assessing transportation system vulnerability to climate change, so that transportation agencies can properly prioritize assets for adaptation measures.

City of Portland and Multnomah County, Oregon Climate Action Plan 2015

The City of Portland and Multnomah County, Oregon 2015 Climate Action Plan (CAP) presents a plan to reduce local carbon emissions 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050 with specific objectives to achieve by 2030. The Plan also identifies over 100 strategies to both reduce local carbon emissions, and adapt to and prepare for climate change in the short-term. The CAP states that its success is dependent on ability to create jobs, advance social equity, improve public health, strengthen natural systems and enhance quality of life, as co-benefits of these mitigation and adaptation strategies.

Damariscotta, Maine Adaptation Planning Study: Downtown Waterfront Area
February 2015
The Town of Damariscotta is considered one of the most vulnerable communities on Maine’s coast for future sea level rise and storm surge. In 2014, Damariscotta received a Maine Coastal Resiliency Grant to study the effects of sea level rise and develop adaptation strategy options for protecting the town. The report reviews both individual measures that building owners may take to floodproof their own buildings, as well as community level adaptations that the town could take to adapt to sea level rise.
