Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA)
The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA) is comprised of member fish and wildlife agencies from every level of government. The Association provides member agencies with coordination services on cross-cutting as well as species-based programs that range from birds, fish habitat and energy development to climate change, wildlife action plans, conservation education, leadership training and international relations. The Association represents its state agency members on Capitol Hill and before the Administration on key conservation and management policies, and works to ensure that all fish and wildlife entities work collaboratively on the most important issues.

Established in 1902, the Bureau of Reclamation is best known for the dams, power plants, reservoirs, and canals it constructed in the 17 western states, including Hoover Dam on the Colorado River and Grand Coulee on the Columbia River. The Bureau of Reclamation is the largest wholesaler of water in the country. They bring water to more than 31 million people, and provide one out of five Western farmers (140,000) with irrigation water for 10 million acres of farmland that produce 60% of the nation's vegetables and 25% of its fruits and nuts.

The California State Climate Office collects and interprets climate data for California, and disseminates climate data and information through various means including their website. The California State Climate Office is housed in the California Department of Water Resources' Division of Flood Management.

Canyonlands Research Center
With The Nature Conservancy's Dugout Ranch at its core, the Canyonlands Research Center Study Area spans lands managed by the USDA Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Canyonlands National Park, giving scientists the opportunity to study wide gradients of elevation, ecology and land-use histories. The Center is also situated along the boundary of the Southwestern monsoon climate zone, making it particularly sensitive to climatic variation. The Center will provide new information on how temperature, rainfall and land uses combine to affect the health of natural resources on the Colorado Plateau.
