The Pacific Regional Integrated Science and Assessment (Pacific RISA) program, aka Climate Adaptation Partnership for the Pacific (CAPP), supports Pacific island and coastal communities to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate variability and change. CAPP is striving to enhance Pacific communities' abilities to understand, plan for, and respond to changing climate conditions. This RISA emphasizes the engagement of communities, governments, and businesses in developing effective policies to build resilience in key sectors such as water resource management, coastal and marine resources, fisheries, agriculture, tourism, disaster management and public health.

Pennsylvania Sea Grant

Focused on the Lake Erie and Delaware River watersheds, Pennsylvania Sea Grant promotes the ecological and economic sustainability of Pennsylvania's coastal resources through research and outreach, and facilitates public understanding of environmental resources and issues impacting the states's coastal communities and ecosystems. ReLocate Kivalina

In Northwest Alaska, the isolated whaling community of Kivalina, home to around 400 people, is facing imminent relocation due to rising sea levels and melting permafrost - the village is approaching total inundation. For a host of reasons, previous relocation efforts in Kivalina are stalled, leaving the community looking for alternatives. ReLocate is a group of social artists from around the world working with a group of delegates from Kivalina to initiate a new, community-led and culturally specific relocation.
