USGS Alaska Science Center Water Resources Office
The U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) web page for the water resources of Alaska aggregates all kinds of water-resource information, including information on Alaska's rivers and streams, ground water, water quality, and many other topics. The USGS operates the most extensive satellite network of stream-gaging stations in the state, many of which form the backbone of flood-warning systems. The USGS provides current ("real-time") stream stage and streamflow, water-quality, and ground-water levels for over 200 sites in Alaska.

Department of the Interior (DOI): Northwest Interior Forest Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC)
The Northwest Interior Forest Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC) is one of 21 LCCs established by Secretarial Order No. 3289, which focus on on-the-ground strategic conservation efforts at the landscape level. LCCs are management-science partnerships that inform integrated resource-management actions addressing climate change and other stressors within and across landscapes, linking science and conservation delivery.

USFS Pacific Northwest Research Station
One of five regional units that make up the U. S. Forest Service (USFS) Research and Development organization, the Pacific Northwest (PNW) Research Station has eleven locations in Alaska, Oregon, and Washington and about 500 employees. Its mission is to generate and communicate scientific knowledge that helps people understand and make informed choices about people, natural resources, and the environment. The PNW Research Station has strong partnerships with universities, national forests, state agencies, nonprofits, private industry, and other federal agencies.

Climate Change Impact Assessment for Surface Transportation in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska
January 2012
The Climate Change Impact Assessment (Assessment) provides a preliminary analysis of the vulnerabilities posed by climate change to the surface transportation infrastructure system in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska region. The Assessment demonstrates a method that planners, engineers, and other agency decision makers can follow when assessing the impacts of climate change on surface transportation in their jurisdiction. The Assessment was conducted for the Region X Northwest Transportation Consortium for transportation policymakers and professionals in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

Climate Action Plans and Long-Range Transportation Plans in the Pacific Northwest: a review of the state of practice
2010
Using online research and a survey, the authors of this report evaluated if and how agencies in the Pacific Northwest are preparing for climate change in their climate action plans (CAPs). Additionally, the report indicates if the goals and recommendations of CAPs are reflected in long-range transportation planning (LRTP) documents; providing examples of how CAPs can better support transportation planners. This report includes a discussion of projected climate change impacts on surface transportation infrastructure and operations by state.

USGCRP Global Climate Change Impacts in the U.S. - Energy Supply and Use
June 2009
This report is one of seven sector-specific chapters from the United States Global Change Research Program's comprehensive 2009 National Climate Assessment, "Global Climate Change Impacts in the U. S. " The 'Energy Supply and Use' chapter synthesizes current and projected impacts from climate change to the energy sector in the U. S. The chapter points out that in addition to its role as a primary cause of global warming, the energy sector will be significantly affected by the impacts of rising temperatures.
