Digital Coast
The Digital Coast is a collaborative effort of organizations committed to providing data and information, tools, and training resources to help address timely coastal issues - including land use, coastal conservation, hazards, marine spatial planning, and climate change. NOAA's Coastal Services Center is maintaining the Digital Coast website which provides access to all the resources being developed and contributed by academic institutions, public and private sector entities. This curated collection of coastal and ocean data and tools are directed at decision makers, practitioners, and technicians.

Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment - Integrating Scientific and Traditional Ecological Knowledge
April 2018
The Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC) is “an intertribal natural resource agency that assists its 11 member Ojibwe (also known as Chippewa, or Anishinaabe) tribes in the implementation and protection of off-reservation treaty rights to hunt, fish, and gather in territories ceded (or sold) to the United States. ” The Commission has worked closely with these tribes to assess the vulnerability of the local ecosystems and natural resources to climate change across the Great Lakes region including Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Minnesota Climate Adaptation Framework and Menu of Climate Adaptation Strategies
May 2018
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is working with the organization paleBLUEdot and other agencies to provide assessment services and funding for 23 cities throughout Minnesota to identify climate-vulnerable populations, resilience indicators, and strategies to reduce climate risks. The report includes a climate adaptation Goals for local communities across Minnesota, as well as a comprehensive list of adaptation strategies. The project initiates the development of adaptation implementation plans for these communities to conserve resources, prioritize cost and benefit balanced strategies, and protect the most vulnerable populations from climate change impacts.

Heat in the Heartland: Climate Change and Economic Risk in the U.S.
January 23, 2015
From the Risky Business Project, “Heat in the Heartland” details how extreme heat from unmitigated climate change could transform the Midwest's communities and economy. This assessment defines the range of potential economic consequences on agriculture and businesses, as well as discusses the related impacts on labor productivity, livestock, energy use, public health, crime, fresh water supply and tourism. The report concludes that the most severe risks can still be avoided through early investments in resilience and immediate action to mitigate global warming.

Great Lakes Adaptation Assessment for Cities (GLAA-C)
2011
Conducted from 2011-2014, the Great Lakes Adaptation Assessment for Cities (GLAA-C) was an Integrated Assessment project supported by the University of Michigan Graham Sustainability Institute, the Kresge Foundation, and in collaboration with Great Lakes Integrated Sciences + Assessments (GLISA). The GLAA-C program was designed to work with cities throughout the Great Lakes region to better understand municipal level climate change impacts. The project also helped develop and implement a variety of adaptation measures throughout the region.

A Screening Assessment of the Potential Impacts of Climate Change on Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Mitigation in the Great Lakes and New England Regions
February 2008
This report presents the potential implications of climate change on combined sewer overflow (CSO) mitigation in the Great Lakes and New England Regions. It is not a detailed analysis of individual systems in these regions. The purpose of this assessment was 1) to determine whether the potential implications of climate change on CSOs in these regions warranted further consideration and study, and 2) to evaluate the need for decision support tools and information that would enable combined sewer system (CSS) managers to incorporate the consideration of climate change into their decision making processes.

Regional climate change adaptation strategies for biodiversity conservation in a midcontinental region of North America (Minnesota)
May 7, 2009
Using climate projections from 16 models, this research assesses climate impacts on the biodiversity in a "mid-continental area of North America" (focused on Minnesota). The likely impacts are described, and adaptation options for eight landscape regions within the planning area are proposed, based on a resistance, resilience, and facilitation framework. The research addresses how to adjust Minnesota's conservation practices so the protected areas network continues to support the state's biodiversity facing climate change.

Analysis of Potential Impacts of Climate Change on Wildlife Habitat in the U.S.
October 31, 2008
This report, from the Wildlife Habitat Policy Research Program (WHPRP) and the USFS Rocky Mountain Research Station, was created as guidance for state agencies to effectively factor climate change into their State Wildlife Action Plans (SWAPs). The primary objective of this project was to develop methods and analyses to provide to state wildlife agencies with information on the magnitude of projected impacts of climate change on terrestrial wildlife habitats and viable options for minimizing those impacts.
