Climate Communications and Behavior Change: A Guide for Practitioners

Drawing on extensive global warming, behavior change, communications research and practitioner expertise, the 'Climate Communications and Behavior Change' guide distils information into tools and recommendations that climate leaders can easily apply.   It illustrates the challenges with existing communication efforts and provides tips on how to frame and deliver outreach efforts in a way that motivates changes in thinking and behavior.   The guide also offers detailed advice and tips on how to frame global warming communications and promote behavior change in ways that resonate with a range of audience segments.

Western Governors' Association Wildlife Corridors Initiative Report

June 2008

In response to policy resolution 07-01, Protecting Wildlife Migration Corridors and Crucial Wildlife Habitat in the West, the Western Governors' Association (WGA) launched a Wildlife Corridors Initiative in 2007, a multi-state and collaborative effort in which six work groups were charged with developing recommendations on various aspects of wildlife corridors and crucial habitat in the West.

Everybody’s Movement: Environmental Justice and Climate Change describes how mitigating and adapting to climate change must be everybody’s movement, in order to be successful.  This report aims to provide answers to the question: “What will it take to create a climate change movement that engages everyone. ” In doing so, the Environmental Support Center intends to contribute to creating a more participatory, inclusive climate change movement in the U. S. with the full engagement of poor communities and communities of color.

Maryland's Living Shoreline Protection Act of 2008 (HB 973)

April 22, 2008

In its January 2008 interim report, the Maryland Commission on Climate Change recommended that the state begin to actively address the impacts on the natural environment of shore erosion induced by sea level rise. The Commission's report recommends a unified approach to shoreline management. Specifically, the Commission suggests that the state resolve management conflicts presented by the current statute and regulatory practice of permitting shore protection alternatives based on the order of preference.
