Conveying the Human Implications of Climate Change: A Climate Change Communication Primer for Public Health Professionals
2011
This primer was developed to help public health professionals communicate the health implications of climate change to the public, for policy makers, and for other professionals whose work is - or will be - affected by climate change. The report addresses how to "get the message right" on the climate change implications for public health, and how to get the message out.

The Oregon Climate Change Adaptation Framework
December 2010
Oregon's Climate Change Adaptation Framework is the result of a collaborative effort between Oregon's state agencies with support from the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute. This report provides a framework for the continued development of strategies and plans to address future climate conditions in the state. Priority climate risks and their respective impacts on key sectors are outlined, followed by over 100 adaptation strategies for near- and long-term planning and implementation. This framework identifies 11 key risks that are likely to occur.

California King Tides Initiative
The California King Tides Initiative encourages members of the public to document (photograph) the highest seasonal tides (or king tides) that occur along the state’s coast. Seasonal high tide events can provide a preview of what might be experienced regularly in the future as a result of rising sea levels. King tide events are an opportunity to share what you see in your community with others.

Considering Climate Change in Florida’s State Wildlife Action Planning: A Spatial Resilience Planning Approach
2011
Conducted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and commissioned by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), this study piloted a new approach to incorporating climate change into wildlife conservation planning through a "spatial resilience planning" method. The method was tested, and recommendations developed, through a series of workshops with Florida species experts and wildlife managers that focused first on revising impact assessments for each species. Priority management actions and spatially specific planning options were then developed for each species under various climate change scenarios.

Restoring the Great Lakes' Coastal Future - Technical Guidance for the Design and Implementation of Climate-Smart Restoration Projects
2011
The purpose of this report is to provide an initial suite of tools and methods to assist in the planning and implementation of climate-smart restoration by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and its partners and grantees. The National Wildlife Federation and EcoAdapt have partnered with NOAA’s Great Lakes Habitat Restoration Program to include climate change in the design and implementation of Great Lakes restoration projects. This guide presents a project-based approach to adjusting restoration activities to address the impacts of climate change on the region.

New York City Green Infrastructure Plan - A Sustainable Strategy for Clean Waterways
September 2010
This plan provides a detailed framework and implementation plan for better water quality in New York Harbor with the aim of creating a livable and sustainable New York City. Targeting combined sewer overflow reduction strategies and investments over the next 20 years, it is intended to be an adaptive management strategy and an iterative, flexible decision-making process where incremental measures are continually evaluated and rejected or improved. The city believes this process produces better decisions about investments and overall resource allocation to achieve water quality objectives.

North Carolina Sea-Level Rise Assessment Report
March 2010
In March 2010, the North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission's (CRC's) Science Panel on Coastal Hazards released this report estimating the extent of land on the North Carolina coast that will be covered by sea-level rise over this century. After explaining how sea-level rise can be assessed and measured, the report provides estimates for sea-level rise through the years 2025, 2050, 2075 and 2100. It concludes with recommendations to make improvements in sea-level monitoring as a first step to adaptation planning.
