City of Alexandria, Virginia Environmental Action Plan 2030

This Environmental Action Plan (EAP) was developed by Eco-City Alexandria, a strategic collaborative planning process designed by the City of Alexandria, Virginia, in partnership with Virginia Tech's Department of Urban Affairs and Planning. The EAP merges short-term goals and action steps (FY-2009-2011) approved by the City Council in January 2009, with new mid- and long-range goals and actions (2012-2030).

USGCRP Global Climate Change Impacts in the US - Ecosystems

This report is one of seven sector-specific chapters from the United States Global Change Research Program's 2009 National Climate Assessment, "Global Climate Change Impacts in the U. S. " The 'Ecosystems' chapter presents current and projected impacts to ecosytems in the U. S. from climate change. Ecosystem processes, migration seasons, species range and distribution shifts, extinction, desertification, and ocean acidification among other impacts are fully described relative to the effects of climate change.

Climate Change in Park City, Utah: An Assessment of Climate, Snowpack, and Economic Impacts

This study examines how the snowpack at the Park City ski area, in the Wasatch Mountains of north central Utah, may be impacted by climate change, and how the regional economy could subsequently be impacted because of changes in winter tourism. The research and analysis was provided by Stratus Consulting for the Park City Foundation - a community foundation that promotes philanthropy, and partners with the nonprofit community to strengthen the greater Park City region.

5-Year Action Plan for Implementing the Strategic Plan for Responding to Accelerating Climate Change in the 21st Century (U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service)

Smart Growth for Coastal and Waterfront Communities

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the International City/County Management Association, and Rhode Island Sea Grant, jointly released "Smart Growth for Coastal and Waterfront Communities," intended for planners, local government officials, developers, residents, and other stakeholders. Developed in consultation with the national Smart Growth Network, the interagency guide builds on the network's ten smart growth principles to create coastal and waterfront-specific strategies for development.

Responding to Climate Change: Working Together to Conserve Land, Wildlife and Habitat
September 2009
On November 15, 2008, 10 organizations consisting of non-profits and Massachusetts state agencies sponsored a conference at Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts. The conference, "Responding to Climate Change: Working Together to Conserve Land, Wildlife and Habitat," was the first of its kind in the Commonwealth and in the nation. The conference brought together nearly 200 conservation leaders from across 60 organizations, including scientists, land stewards, hunters, anglers, government officials, advocates, foundation officers, and policy-makers.

GreenLA: An Action Plan to Lead the Nation in Fighting Global Warming (Los Angeles, California)

GreenLA is the City of Los Angeles, California's climate action plan that was published in 2007.
