Securing a Future for Fish and Wildlife: a Conservation Legacy for Iowans (Iowa Wildlife Action Plan)

2007

"Securing a Future for Fish and Wildlife: a Conservation Legacy for Iowans" is the first attempt to inventory the state's wildlife and evaluate the status of each species. It also examines stresses on wildlife and their habitats, including climate change, and presents conservation strategies for the next 25 years. Developed by a coalition of scientists, sportsmen, conservationists, members of the public, and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), the Iowa Wildlife Action Plan (IWAP) is "a proactive plan designed to conserve all wildlife in Iowa before they become rare and more costly to protect.

New Hampshire Wildlife Action Plan

2006

Congress charged each state and territory with developing a wildlife action plan in order to receive funds through the Wildlife Conservation and Restoration Program and the State Wildlife Grants Program. These proactive plans, known also as “Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Strategies,” assess the health of each state’s wildlife and habitats, identify the problems they face, and outline the actions that are needed to conserve them over the long term.

Climate Change & Aspen: An Assessment of Impacts and Potential Responses

July 2006

Adopted by the City of Aspen, Colorado in 2006, this report includes an assessment of possible climate change impacts to the city, provides an greenhouse gas emissions inventory for the city, sets emissions reductions goals, and facilitates coordination on climate action between city agencies and private entities. The assessment focuses on climate impacts on mountain snow, Aspen's ecology and ecosystem processes, socioeconomics of the ski industry, and the streamflow of the Roaring Fork River which provides municipal water supplies.

Safeguarding California Plan: 2018 Update

January 30, 2018

California’s Climate Adaptation Strategy 2018 Update describes the state’s progress in climate adaptation and presents an actionable plan for the near future. Building on the 2009 California Adaptation Strategy and the 2014 Safeguarding California Plan, the 2018 report is directed by Assembly Bill 1482 (2015-16) to update the state’s adaptation strategy every three years.

Blackfeet Climate Change Adaptation Plan

April 2018

The Blackfeet or Amskapi Pikuni Nation integrated their tribal government priorities, traditional values and ecological knowledge, climate change impact science, and a collective vision of the future to build this climate change adaptation plan. The plan is oriented around eight focal tribal resource management sectors of: Agriculture, Culture, Forestry, Fish, Wildlife, Land and Range, Water, and Human Health in northern Montana. Projected climate impacts were analyzed with experts within the Blackfeet Nation for each sector to create climate adaptation goals, strategies, and actions.

New York State Ocean Action Plan

January 23, 2017

New York Department of Environmental Conservation released a final Ocean Action Plan (OAP) for the state of New York - a ten-year action plan focused on improving ocean ecosystem health, and the ocean’s capacity to provide sustainable benefits to the state. One of the four primary goals included in the plan is to increase resilience to climate change impacts. The OAP will guide State government funding, research, management, and outreach and education choices.
