Rhode Island Climate Change Collaborative "Waves of Change" website

2014

Researchers from the University of Rhode Island (URI) and the Rhode Island Sea Grant formed the Rhode Island Climate Change Collaborative. Experts in natural science, behavior science and communications are collectively engaging in research and outreach to prepare Rhode Islanders for climate change, and build resilient communities. The immediate goal of the Collaborative is to share information with the public about climate change impacts on the state and what adaptation options are available, through a comprehensive website.

From the Association of State Wetland Managers (ASWM), this website provides a comprehensive review of climate change adaptation measures related to natural resources, plants and wildlife - with a specific emphasis on wetlands. An interactive map of the U.S. allows the user to select a state for more information on statewide planning, policy, and tools, along with associated web links.

Colorado Climate Preparedness Project Adaptation Database

The Colorado Climate Preparedness Project (CCPP) was initiated to to assist Colorado in continuing to prepare itself for climate variability and change by providing a catalog of climate vulnerabilities and current adaptation activities in the state. The project focuses on five key sectors that were identified by the state advisory team as particularly sensitive to the impacts of climate variability and change including: Water; Wildlife, ecosystems and forests; Electricity; Agriculture; and Climate-sensitive tourism and outdoor recreation.

Washington Department of Ecology Clearinghouse: Impacts, Preparation, Adaptation Resources

The Washington Department of Ecology developed a central clearinghouse to store resources with scientific and technical information related to the impacts of climate change on different sectors in Washington. Resources in the clearinghouse are generally organized by the same sectors within the statewide adaptation plan, the '2012 Washington State Integrated Climate Change Response Strategy' (which also is reviewed in this Clearinghouse). Efforts to maintain and expand the clearinghouse help address several recommendations made in the 2012 Strategy.

Climate Resilience Evaluation and Awareness Tool Version 3.0 Methodology Guide

This guide is a supplement describing how to use the EPA’s Climate Resilience Evaluation and Awareness Tool (CREAT) Version 3.0, a tool designed for local drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities to conduct climate change risk assessments. CREAT and this guide are part of the EPA’s Climate Water Ready Utilities suite of resources.

Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) is an association of the largest publicly owned drinking water systems in the United States. This climate change focused website provides high impact reports from government and utility associations, links to recent climate-water news items, and descriptions of related AMWA activities to provide up-to-date information to members.

Santa Clara Valley Water District Climate Change Portal

This web portal allows users to search for reports and other technical literature on the subject of climate change. Although focused on the Santa Clara Valley in California, the portal draws from state, local, and national reports from across the country and is thus useful to state and local governments across the country. Users can search for reports based on topics (including adaptation), date, and keyword. There are also special links to reports and websites on sea-level rise, groundwater, and climate change.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hosts a searchable website for climate change impacts and adaptation information and resources. From the home page, impacts and adaptation information is organized by region or by sector, as well as additional adaptation resources are provided - categorized as adaptation overview, federal and EPA programs, and tools for public officials.
