ClimateWise - Geos Institute
ClimateWise is a non-profit scientific consulting firm of the Geos Institute that specializes in helping communities and planning groups assess the projected impacts of climate change in their locality and develop concrete actions to minimize and prepare for those impacts.
The ClimateWise team works directly with local leaders to help them understand their local vulnerabilities and to develop increased resilience. Communities are guided step-by-step through the ClimateWise program to protect the most valued resources in the most collaborative, efficient, and cost-effective manner possible.
The Geos Institute developed the ClimateWise framework that communities can follow to create “Whole Community Solutions.” The framework encompasses adaptation/resiliency actions that can integrate among diverse sectors within a community, including vulnerable populations; neighboring communities; between adaptation and mitigation efforts; and among different levels of government (local, state, federal).
ClimateWise consulting services include localized climate science assessments, vulnerability assessments, community workshops, whole community resilience planning, spatial analysis and mapping, and custom packages can be developed.
