Connecticut Institute for Resilience & Climate Adaptation (CIRCA)
Based at the University of Connecticut, the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation (CIRCA) aims to increase the resiliency and sustainability of Connecticut's coast and inland waterways. CIRCA addresses climate change impacts to the natural, built, and human environment by bringing together experts from engineering, economics, political science, natural science, finance, and law.
CIRCA is active in research and policy around a range of climate impacts and policies including living shorelines, inland flooding, coastal flooding, and sea level rise. They provide grants to researchers and municipalities to support adaptation efforts. CIRCA also led the research, outreach, and collaborative efforts to develop a regional vulnerability assessment and a winning application to the National Disaster Resilience Competition.
CIRCA's website profiles Connecticut adaptation resources and reports.
