StormSmart Coasts

Established by the Northeast Regional Ocean Council, EPA, NOAA, and the Gulf of Mexico Alliance, the StormSmart Coasts Network is a web resource dedicated to helping decision makers in coastal communities address the challenges of storms, flooding, sea level rise, and climate change.

More than just a website, this network of state and local sites gives coastal decision makers a definitive place to find and share the best resilience-related resources available, and provides tools for collaboration. The StormSmart website is a hub for coastal resiliency planning which includes a blog with current news and state and federal resources, links to each of the partnering StormSmart states’ projects, and StormSmart “Connect” designed to help coastal professionals find and share information on weather and climate hazards.

Active StormSmart states include New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Delaware (which are collectively represented on the StormSmart Coasts - Northeast Coastal Climate Change Adaptation website: http://necca.stormsmart.org/), as well as Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas in the Gulf.
