Utah Climate Action Network
The Utah Climate Action Network is a partnership between government, research institutions, non-profits/foundations, faith-based organizations, the private sector, and individuals that was established in 2016 to address climate change in Utah. The convening organizations are Salt Lake City, Park City, Salt Lake County Health Department, University of Utah and Alta Ski area. The Network focuses both on reducing emissions and enhancing climate resiliency.
The initial focus of the Network is to drive action, understanding and collaboration through: Public Engagement, Leadership and Policies, and Enhanced System-Level Response (described as incorporating sector-based adaptation and mitigation into existing organizational, partner, and regional efforts).Â
The Network is launching individual working groups to create another platform for sharing of best practices and to initiate project collaboration. Working groups include:
- Water and Climate Change
- Public Health and Climate Change
- Climate and Energy Footprint Analysis and Planning
- Transportation Impact
