Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI)

The mission of the Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) is to identify the state’s ever-changing research needs, to motivate and support research by qualified scientists, and to provide for technology transfer.

WRRI identifies and supports research needed to help solve water quality and water resources problems in North Carolina and the region, conducted by faculty and graduate students of senior colleges and Universities in the state.  WRRI arranges research partnerships and compete for federal, state and foundation grants and contracts. WRRI also provides information transfer on water-related issues through their research reports, publications, conferences, workshops, seminars and the 'WRRI-News' electronic list.  The Institute also sponsors educational seminars, workshops and conferences and provides public information on water issues through publication of a newsletter, listservs and on their website.

Along with academic institutions in NC, WRRI partners with the NC Urban Water Consortium and Stormwater Group as well as the North Carolina Water Resources Association.
