Water Utility Climate Alliance (WUCA)
The Water Utility Climate Alliance (WUCA) provides leadership and collaboration on climate change issues affecting the country's drinking water utilities. WUCA is developing partnerships with the climate science community, provides feedback on climate change research and data, and supports additional climate change research on a regional and sub-regional basis.
WUCA aims to enhance the quality and accessibility of regional climate change data to help reduce uncertainty and improve water resource planning, promote the development of adaptation strategies, assist overall decision-making efforts and support the development of water-related policies.
Comprised of eight of the nation's largest water providers, WUCA members supply drinking water for more than 36 million people throughout the United States. Member organizations include Denver Water, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, Portland Water Bureau and San Diego County Water Authority, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, Seattle Public Utilities and Southern Nevada Water Authority.
