Adapting to Climate Change: A Short Course for Land Managers
This online package features video lectures, interactive quizzes, literature citations, and links to further information about climate change and its implications for management of national forests and grasslands.
Course materials are grouped under three headings: Climate Variability and Projections, Ecological Responses to Climate Variability, and Management Responses to Climate Variability. The courses are intended to provide "state-of-the-science" for natural resource managers and policy makers regarding climate variability, change, projections and ecological and management responses to climate variability. Content was produced from a July 2008 workshop that brought together key U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Geologic Survey scientists, and select resource managers who served as reviewers and discussants.
