California Climate Commons
The Climate Commons is an online library of resources about climate change in California - including data, research, tools, ongoing projects, as well as the opportunity to network with others about applying climate change science to conservation in the state.
The Commons Library Team focuses on cataloging information sources describing the impacts of climate change on resources of conservation interest in California. Such resources include flora, fauna, and natural ecosystems - related to the changes in the processes that affect these resources such as fire, hydrology, and sea level rise. To a lesser extent, the impacts of climate change on human development patterns such as urban growth and agricultural patterns are included, but these impacts receive lower priority in cataloging.
The Commons library includes:
Datasets: spatial and other types of data
Documents: journal articles, reports, and manuscripts
Web Resources: websites that offer tools and services
Projects: CA LCC-funded climate change research projects
Articles: on important concepts, projects, tools, and datasets
The California Climate Commons is developed by a consortium of organizations dedicated to making environmental data and information more accessible and useable for conservation practice. Partners include the Sonoma Ecology Center, Point Reyes Bird Observatory Conservation Science, UC Davis Information Center for the Environment, and the California Landscape Conservation Cooperative.
