Manomet Center For Conservation Sciences

A non-profit environmental research organization, Manomet is dedicated to conserving natural resources for both humans and wildlife. For 40 years, Manomet has worked "to build a sustainable world based on healthy natural systems that support human and wildlife populations."  They are a leader in the non-advocacy use of science for problem-solving, and have a long history of working collaboratively with entities that have the capacity to leverage change.

Manomet's Climate Change & Energy Initiative focuses on adaptation and mitigation strategies for human communities and wildlife habitats and is at the forefront of developing science-based adaptation solutions to climate change in the Northeast. They are working with state and federal agencies, foundations, landowners, and NGOs to identify and implement robust approaches that will help to conserve threatened resources. Detailed on the website are a number of recent climate change projects. For example, the Northeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies funded Manomet and its partner, the National Wildlife Federation, in a three-year project working with the 13 northeastern states to build their capacities to respond to climate change and to conserve their natural resources.
