Resilient Communities for America
Resilient Communities for America (RC4A) is a national campaign that supports the leadership of local elected officials who are building more resilient communities - communities that can recover from extreme weather, energy, and economic challenges.
The Resilient Communities for America Agreement is a sign-on letter for mayors and county leaders who pledge to create more resilient cities, towns, and counties - and share their challenges and successes to help other local governments.
RC4A's goals are to:
- Secure a leadership commitment to address community resilience from 200 local elected official signatories in the first 12 months after the campaign launched in June 2013, and 1,000 by 2015.
- Secure greater state and federal funding, support, and collaboration with local governments to support local initiatives on resilience and preparedness, infrastructure renewal, and energy security.
- Measurably improve the resilience of all communities that participate in the campaign.
