The center also has historical data on Kansas streamflow, ground water, water quality, and other historical information. The USGS operates the most extensive satellite network of stream-gaging stations in the state, many of which form the backbone of flood-warning systems.
USGS Water Science Centers are located in each state, producing data for the 50 states, U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia.
