NOAA Climate Monitoring Data and Tools

The Climate Monitoring website from NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information provides data and products for analysis of climate trends and variability, including historical and current climate reports and analysis.

Societal Impact indicators are included on the site which were established by NOAA "to enhance the understanding of weather and climate's effects on socioeconomic sectors of the United States." The first indicators developed and available are the Crop Moisture Stress Index which reflects the influence of severe drought and catastrophic wetness on annual crop yield for corn and soybean crops, and the Residential Energy Demand Temperature Index which provides quantitative information on the impact of seasonal temperatures on residential energy demand.

The site also links to the State of the Climate which is a collection of monthly and annual summaries recapping climate-related occurrences on both a global and national scale.

Other popular products include the National Overview, Global Analysis, Monthly Temperature and Precipitation Ranks, Climate at a Glance, U.S. Drought Portal, and U.S. Drought Monitor
