The Southern Rockies Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC) is one of 21 LCCs established by Department of Interior Secretarial Order No. 3289, which focus on on-the-ground strategic conservation efforts at the landscape level. LCCs are management-science partnerships that inform integrated resource-management actions addressing climate change and other stressors within and across landscapes. As of 2020, the Southern Rockies LCC is no longer active.

USFS Rocky Mountain Research Station
One of five regional units that make up the U. S. Forest Service (USFS) Research and Development organization, the Rocky Mountain Research Station maintains 14 research locations throughout a 14-state territory encompassing the Great Basin, Southwest, Rocky Mountains and parts of the Great Plains. The station administers and conducts research on 14 experimental forests, ranges and watersheds while maintaining long-term databases for these areas. The station also oversees activities on more than 260 Research Natural Areas and leads ecosystem management and research partnership projects in Arizona, Montana, New Mexico and Nevada.

Sierra Nevada Alliance
Since 1993 the Sierra Nevada Alliance has been protecting and restoring Sierra lands, water, wildlife, and communities. Their mission is to protect and restore the natural resources of the Sierra Nevada for future generations while promoting sustainable communities. The organization is an alliance of over one hundred conservation groups that are based or work in the Sierra Nevada region, spanning the entire 400 mile mountain range. The Sierra Nevada Alliance is working with conservation representatives, resource managers and community leaders to ensure they have cutting-edge tools to adapt resource plans and projects and address change in ways that protect and restore Sierra waters, lands, wildlife and rural communities.

Western Resource Advocates (WRA)
Western Resource Advocates (WRA) is a non-profit environmental law and policy organization with offices in seven states: Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Idaho. WRA collaborates with conservation groups, hunters and fishermen, ranchers, American Indians, and others to: 1) advance clean energy to reduce pollution and global climate change, 2) promote urban water conservation and river restoration, 3) defend special public lands from energy development and unauthorized off-road vehicle travel, 4) reduce air and water pollution and harmful climate change, 5) protect habitat for threatened, endangered, and sensitive plant and animal species, 6) protect terrestrial, aquatic, and riparian ecosystems, 7) maintain the integrity of public lands, and 8) achieve environmentally sustainable management of energy, land, and water resources.

The Western States Federal Agency Support Team (WestFAST) is a collaboration between 12 Federal agencies with water management responsibilities in the West (Environmental Protection Agency, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Land Management, , U. S. Geological Survey, U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U. S. Forest Service, Natural Resources Conservation Service, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, U. S. Department of Defense, U. S. Dept. of Energy, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration).

Western States Water Council (WSWC)
The Western States Water Council is an organization consisting of representatives appointed by the governors of 18 western states. Since its creation, through adoption of a resolution at the Western Governors' Conference in 1965, the Council has striven to fulfill its chartered purposes. The purposes of the Council are: (1) to accomplish effective cooperation among western states in the conservation, development and management of water resources; (2) to maintain vital state prerogatives, while identifying ways to accommodate legitimate federal interests; (3) to provide a forum for the exchange of views, perspectives, and experiences among member states; and (4) to provide analysis of federal and state developments in order to assist member states in evaluating impacts of federal laws and programs and the effectiveness of state laws and policies.

Western Forestry Leadership Coalition
Formally established in 2000, the Western Forestry Leadership Coalition is a partnership between state and federal government forestry leaders in the west. The Coalition is comprised of 34 members including 23 State members, also known as the Council of Western State Foresters, and 11 USDA Forest Service members, including 7 Regional Foresters, 3 USFS Research Station Directors, and a USFS Forest Products Lab Director. The purpose of the Coalition is to address critical resource issues across ownerships and jurisdictions.
