Southern Regional Climate Center
The Southern Regional Climate Center (SRCC) is one of six regional climate centers in the U. S. managed by NOAA's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). The mission of the SRCC is to increase the use and availability of climate information in the southern region of the U. S. that comprises the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. SRCC personnel work closely with scientists from other regional and federal climate centers to enhance climate services and programs that provide a regional structure for climate applications.

Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program (SCIPP) - RISA
Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program (SCIPP) is a member of NOAA's Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments (RISA) program, which supports climate research for decision-makers and policy planners at a regional level. SCIPP represents Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi, investigating major climate hazards of the region. The program provides education and outreach, collaboratively develops an all-hazards assessment tool, and actively engages community-level decision makers to determine hazard planning and climate data gaps.

Southern Group of State Foresters (SGSF)
The Southern Group of State Foresters (SGSF) is a non-profit organization consisting of State Foresters from Alabama, Arkansas, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, U. S. Virgin Islands, and Virginia. SGSF provides leadership in sustaining the economic, environmental and social benefits of the forests of the Southeast, and works to identify and address existing and emerging issues and challenges that are important to southern forests and citizens.

The USGS Mississippi Water Science Center provides current real time data on surface water, ground water, water quality, and precipitation from sites throughout Mississippi. The center has historical data on streamflow, ground water, water quality, and other water-related information. The center also has numerous publications, data sheets, projects, and scientific reports on a range of hydrological topics.

The Mississippi State Climatologist is located in the Department of Geosciences, Mississippi State University. This office provides climate information to the public and conducts research into the influences of climate on environmental processes and human activities in the state and region.

Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium
The Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium (MASGC) develops research, education, and outreach programs, and focuses on one the following priority areas: 1) Healthy Coastal Ecosystems, 2) Safe and Sustainable Seafood, 3) Sustainable Coastal Communities, and 4) Hazard Resilience in Coastal Communities. The mission of the MASGC is to enhance the sustainable use and conservation of ocean and coastal resources to benefit the economy and environment in Alabama and Mississippi. To fulfill this mission, MASGC commits to interdisciplinary environmental scholarship and community-based natural resources management so that coastal and marine resources are conserved and managed for a sustainable economy and environment.

U.S. Forest Service Eastern Forest Environmental Threat Assessment Center
The mission of the Eastern Forest Environmental Threat Assessment Center (EFETAC) is an interdisciplinary resource that is actively developing new technology and tools to anticipate and respond to emerging eastern forest threats. EFETAC researchers work with other scientists nationally as well as with a variety of Federal, State, and local government agencies, universities, and non-governmental partners to address forest threats. EFETAC has many projects and collaborations related to climate change which can be accessed on their website.

Hosted by the NOAA Coastal Services Center's Digital Coast, this online mapping tool allows users to observe the effects of sea level rise on U.S. coasts. Being able to visualize potential impacts from sea level rise can be a powerful teaching and planning tool, and the Sea Level Rise Viewer brings this capability to coastal communities.

Sea Level Rise Visualization for Alabama, Mississippi and Florida
This online map displays those areas that will be submerged during high tide as the result of sea- level rise on the Alabama, Mississippi, and part of Florida's coasts Populations, roads, infrastructure (ie., airports) and other viewing options are available to assess the areas at risk of inundation under different scenarios (1 meter, 2,3,4,5).
