About the Adaptation Clearinghouse
Georgetown Climate Center's Adaptation Clearinghouse is a regularly updated library of adaptation policies, case studies, and other resources to inform efforts to respond to the effects of a changing climate.
Whether you are a government official, an academic researcher, or a community organizer, the resources in the Georgetown Climate Center's Adaptation Clearinghouse provide examples, lessons, and approaches to help communities become safer and more prepared for climate impacts.
Since 2009 the Clearinghouse has been a flagship product of Georgetown Climate Center's Adaptation Program and a key resource for adaptation professionals. Its content highlights policy approaches to addressing climate-driven natural hazards that affect people and communities, with a focus on governance strategies that protect human communities and the built environment from accelerating climate risks.
The Clearinghouse was developed and is updated and managed by the Georgetown Climate Center with generous support over the years from the MacArthur Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Kresge Foundation, and other funders who make the Center's work possible. Through the years, content and curated portals within the Clearinghouse have also been informed through engagement with the Urban Sustainability Directors Network, the American Society of Adaptation Professionals, the Climate Adaptation Knowledge Exchange, the U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Highway Administration, and environmental and climate justice organizations.
The nonpartisan Georgetown Climate Center seeks to advance effective climate, energy, and transportation policies in the United States—policies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help communities adapt to climate change.
