AdaptNY

AdaptNY is a digital journalism project at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. The project uses innovative social networking and crowd sourcing to provide information about climate change. The project seeks to improve engagement over the issue of adaptation in NYC though a wide range of existing tools and techniques, from expansive curation to data journalism, mapping, and other original interactive and multimedia storytelling techniques. This digital-centered approach is supplemented by face-to-face workshopping hosted by CUNY and other news media partners. AdaptNY's Harlem Heat Project is an example of an innovative approach to involve citizens in the processes of gathering data, present narrative experiences, and strengthen relationships among communities, city officials, scientists, and local news media.
