Department of the Interior (DOI): North Pacific Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC)

The North Pacific Landscape Conservation Cooperative (NPLCC) is one of 21 LCCs established by Secretarial Order No. 3289, which focus on on-the-ground strategic conservation efforts at the landscape level. LCCs are management-science partnerships that inform integrated resource-management actions addressing climate change and other stressors within and across landscapes, linking science and conservation delivery.

The NPLCC spans the Pacific Northwest from Southern Alaska to Northern California (including British Columbia) and includes landscapes west of the Sierras, Cascades and Brooks ranges to the coastal zone.  The NPLCC will work with partners to create a framework for the integration of conservation management and climate science. This effort will be coordinated with other existing climate change efforts in the region, bringing additional science capacity to biological planning, conservation design and the design of monitoring, research and evaluations.  The currently participating bureaus are the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
