Water Research Foundation
With a mission of advancing the science of water, the Water Research Foundation is a member-supported, international, nonprofit organization that sponsors research to enable water utilities, public health agencies, and other professionals to provide safe and affordable drinking water to consumers. This foundation sponsors a research program that is responsive to the needs of the water supply community; identifies the practical benefits of research findings and delivers this knowledge to stakeholders throughout the water supply community; and cultivates partnerships with organizations around the world to leverage funding and share expertise. This research program focuses on water quality, management and customer relations, infrastructure, and water resources and environmental sustainability. Specific research projects focus on treatment, distribution, resources, monitoring & analysis, management, and health effects.
Thousands of water-related reports can be found on the foundation's website, including many devoted to effects and impacts of climate change on water resources and utility planning. The foundation has also established a Climate Change Clearinghouse Website to share climate change science relevant to water utilities, the impacts climate change can have on water resources, guidance on planning and adaptation strategies, as well as their related climate change studies.
