Colorado Climate Action Plan (2007)
In 2007, Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. released a Climate Action Plan providing goals for Colorado through 2050.
While primarily focused on greenhouse gas emission reductions, the 2007 Climate Action Plan contains 70 strategies of which 14 are focused on adaptation. Adaptation recommendations include assessing vulnerabilities to the state's water supplies, analyzing the impacts of climate change on interstate water compacts, and planning for severe drought, flooding and other climate risks. Other adaptation measures address reducing the risk of wildfires. The plan also recommends creating a state vulnerability assessment and associated adaptation plans.
