The County of Marin, California's “Game of Floods” is an interactive game on sea level rise climate adaptation for Marin and the San Francisco Bay Area. California EO B-30-15: Establishing 2030 CA emissions target, Adaptation initiatives

In April 2015, Governor Edmund Gerald "Jerry" Brown signed Executive Order B-30-15 (EO) establishing a new interim greenhouse gas reduction target of 40 percent below 1990 levels and directing state agencies to take additional actions to prepare for the impacts of climate change. The EO requires consideration of climate change impacts in the State's Infrastructure Investment Plan and in all state planning and investment decisions. The EO also sets principles for the states action to address climate impacts and calls for monitoring of state progress.

The Report of the Colorado Local Resilience Project

Jointly convened by the Colorado Climate Network and the Colorado Municipal League, the Colorado Local Resilience Project was established to develop an agenda to help make Colorado communities more resilient to possible climate change impacts. The Project, comprised of 78 representatives of 30 local governments in Colorado and six other governmental and nonprofit entities active at the local level, released a report in April 2015 with climate resiliency recommendations aimed at local governments.

The 2015 plan for New York City, One New York: The Plan for a Strong and Just City (OneNYC) was originally released in 2007, and again in 2011 under the name "PlaNYC. " As in past iterations of this report, OneNYC addresses New York City’s economic growth, sustainability, and resiliency - but also seeks to address issues of equity, and provides a strategic plan for collectively achieving this goal. OneNYC lays out strategies for dealing with income inequality along with plans for managing climate change impacts, while establishing the platform for another century of economic growth and vitality.

Executive Order 14096: Revitalizing Our Nation’s Commitment to Environmental Justice for All establishes a whole-of-government approach to advancing environmental justice, building on other recent Executive Orders that focus on racial equity, tackling the climate crisis, and investing equitably in resilient and low-carbon solutions. The EO defines environmental justice, calls on federal agencies to assess environmental hazards among historically marginalized communities, changes environmental reviews under NEPA, and establishes a White House Office of Environmental Justice.

South Florida Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Pilot Project: Final Report

From 2013 to 2015, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) sponsored climate resilience pilot studies by partnering with State Departments of Transportation and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs). The FHWA’s Climate Change Resilience Pilots were designed to conduct climate change and extreme weather vulnerability assessments of transportation infrastructure and to analyze options for adapting and improving resiliency. This report presents the results of the FHWA pilot study in the southeast Florida region of Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach Counties.
