Pennsylvania Final Climate Change Action Plan

From Pennsylvania's Climate Change Action Committee, this plan identifies 52 specific recommendations for Pennsylvania and the federal government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Actions taken by the state to address climate mitigation as of 2009 are detailed. The plan's chapters are organized by sector including: electricity generation, transmission & distribution; residential and commercial; land use and transportation; industry; waste; agriculture; forestry; and macroeconomic assessment.

This document is notable because it establishes the foundation for Pennsylvania’s first climate action plan with very detailed recommendations that were vetted through a stakeholder process and which include detailed economic analyses of each of the recommendations for reductions of greenhouse gases.

The report addresses the need for adaptation planning by the state, but this action plan only focuses on climate mitigation strategies.

An update to this Action Plan was developed in 2013.
