Maryland Sea Grant
Maryland Sea Grant is administered by the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the State of Maryland, and is dedicated to protect and restore Maryland's coastal resources. Both on its own and in collaboration with its many partners, Sea Grant proactively addresses the scientific, economic, and social challenges facing the Chesapeake Bay. Research efforts bolster understanding of major commercial species, including the oyster, blue crab, and striped bass, and bring scientists and managers together to design new ecosystem-based fisheries management regimes.

The Maryland State Climatologist Office is a public service entity that has affiliations with the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science at the University of Maryland, College Park, and is the home of the Acting Maryland State Climatologist. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sea Grant
The MIT Sea Grant College Program is the first institution of higher learning to be appointed a Sea Grant College. The MIT Sea Grant's research programs, dedicated outreach programs, and integrated educational projects are aimed at providing real-world solutions to coastal questions and at helping to create the coastal stewards of tomorrow. The program's innovative marine research includes autonomous underwater vehicles, aquaculture and fisheries, coastal management, underwater communications, and biotechnology.

Maryland and Delaware Climate Change Education, Assessment and Research (MADE CLEAR) Program
The Maryland and Delaware Climate Change Education, Assessment and Research (MADE CLEAR) program brings together scientists and educators to provide teachers with tools and resources on climate change science and impacts so that they are more prepared to teach these complex subjects in the classrooms. The program’s main focus is on providing a support system for middle and high school teachers, but it also engages universities, state departments of education, and educators from natural resource agencies, museums, and aquariums.

Maryland Commission on Climate Change
On April 20, 2007, Governor Martin O'Malley signed Executive Order 01. 01. 2007. 07 establishing the Maryland Climate Change Commission (MCCC) charged with collectively developing an action plan to address the causes of climate change, prepare for the likely consequences and impacts of climate change to Maryland, and establish firm benchmarks and timetables for implementing the Commission's recommendations. The Commission included members representing academia, business, industry, environmental groups and many levels of government.

Maryland Department of Natural Resources: Chesapeake and Coastal Program
The Maryland Chesapeake & Coastal Program (CCP), administered by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, is a partnership among local, regional and state agencies. The CCP also collaborates with many private organizations, such as local land trusts and economic development groups. This partnership has helped the state to reduce the environmental impacts of coastal development, resolve conflicts between competing coastal uses, and provide assistance to local governments in coastal planning and resource protection.

A non-profit environmental research organization, Manomet is dedicated to conserving natural resources for both humans and wildlife. For 40 years, Manomet has worked "to build a sustainable world based on healthy natural systems that support human and wildlife populations." They are a leader in the non-advocacy use of science for problem-solving, and have a long history of working collaboratively with entities that have the capacity to leverage change.

National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI)
Formerly the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), The National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) provides both national and global climate data that is used by both government and the private sector. This data is intended to maximize the resource provided by our climate and minimize the risks of climate variability and weather extremes. NCEI is the world's largest active archive of weather data. The Center produces numerous climate publications and responds to data requests from all over the world.

National Climate Adaptation Science Center
The USGS National Climate Adaptation Science Center is the managing entity for nine regional Department of the Interior Climate Adaptation Science Centers (CASCs) across the continental U. S. , Alaska, Hawai'i, and U. S. Affiliated Pacific Islands. The National CASC, based in USGS headquarters in Reston, Virginia, is a national center for independent and collaborative research on climate change vulnerability and adaptation. It also serves as the managing entity for the broader CASC network, providing leadership and guidance in administration, communication, partnership coordination, and data/program management.
