Organization
The Gulf Coast Center for Law and Policy (GCCLP) is a non-profit public interest law firm and justice center focusing equity and justice in the Gulf South states (Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Texas). GCCLP provides trainings, programs, and services focusing on climate justice, migrants rights, land sovereignty, and economic opportunity for those communities that are on the frontlines of climate change.
Organization
The Gulf of Mexico Alliance is a partnership of the states of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, with the goal of significantly increasing regional collaboration to enhance the ecological and economic health of the Gulf of Mexico. The Alliance has identified six priority issues including water quality, habitat conservation and restoration, ecosystem integration and assessment, nutrients and nutrient impacts, coastal community resilience, and environmental education.

The mission of the Hawai'i Conservation Alliance (HCA) is to provide unified leadership and advocacy on conservation issues critical to Hawai'i. Their purpose is to work together to continue a legacy of stewardship and to achieve the goal of promoting the preservation of native terrestrial and marine ecosystems, increasing the diversity of native species, and ensuring that the unique biodiversity of the islands is maintained into the future.

The University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program (UH Sea Grant), founded in 1968, promotes better understanding, conservation, and use of coastal resources. UH Sea Grant works in partnership with the University of Hawaiʻi’s School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to identify Hawaiʻi’s critical resource management issues and guide scientific research to address these challenges.

The Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant (IISG) provides research, education and outreach to coastal communities to help secure healthy coastal environments and economies. IISG brings together scientists, educators, policy makers, community decision makers, outreach specialists, business leaders, and the general public to focus on coastal issues in the southern Lake Michigan region - 104 miles of heavily urbanized and industrialized shoreline in Illinois and Indiana. IISG's program addresses critical issues including aquaculture, aquatic invasive species, climate change, coastal restoration, fish consumption, great lakes health, land use planning, pharmaceuticals, water quality, and water supply.

The Institute for Coastal Science and Policy (ICSP) works to understand North Carolina coastal systems so that the problems and opportunities associated with them can be addressed. Research in the Institute concentrates on four main areas and their interrelationships including coastal ecology, coastal geoscience, social science, and public policy. One objective of the Institute is to develop methodological approaches and theoretical perspectives that advance the understanding of the coastal environment and human systems, drawing on emerging technologies and conceptual tools such as systems and network theory, geographic information sciences, and computer-based modeling.

State, local and tribal governments of the U.S. and Canada along with Chile, Nigeria and France, have formed the International Alliance to Combat Ocean Acidification. Along with advancing the science of ocean acidification and working to reduce the cause and severity of this climate change impact, the Alliance will work in support of inclusion of ocean health and ocean acidification mitigation, adaptation and resiliency strategies in international climate agreements.

The Lake Champlain Sea Grant is a cooperative program of the University of Vermont and Plattsburgh State University of New York and part of a national network coordinated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The project's mission is to identify and address critical ecological and economic issues affecting the Lake Champlain basin and its resources and to share that information. This program empowers communities, businesses, and other stakeholders to make informed decisions regarding the management, conservation, utilization, and rehabilitation of their aquatic resources for long-term environmental health and economic growth.

The CPRA's Office of Coastal Protection and Restoration handles Louisiana's coastal activity policy and legislative issues. Protection projects include Comite River diversion, Lake Pontchartrain and vicinity hurricane protection, and SELA - Orleans Parish flood control project. Restoration projects include freshwater diversion, outfall management, sediment diversions, dredged material / marsh creation, shoreline protection, sediment and nutrient trapping, hydrologic restoration, marsh management, barrier island restoration, vegetation planting, and demonstration projects.

The Louisiana Governor's Office of Coastal Activities provides leadership and support to the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA). This office also directs and coordinates the development and implementation of policies, plans, and programs which encourage multiple uses of the coastal zone and achieve a proper balance between development and conservation, restoration, creation, and nourishment of coastal resources. .
