This report includes an evaluation of the impacts of climate change on fish, wildlife, and habitats of New York, and an overview of adaptation strategies. Developed by the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), the information produced through this project and included in this document will broadly inform the incorporation of climate change considerations into the revision of New York’s Wildlife Action Plan (WAP) which is slated for completion in 2015.

This report was developed as technical input for the 2014 National Climate Assessment*, to synthesize the scientific understanding of the way climate change is affecting ecosystems, ecosystem services and the diversity of species, as well as what strategies might be used by natural resource practitioners to decrease current and future risks. More than 60 federal, academic and other scientists authored this impact assessment.

This report focuses on the sea level rise impacts as well as adaptation opportunities for three counties along the Georgia coast (Chatham, Liberty, and McIntosh). The result of a semester-long graduate planning studio at the Georgia Institute of Technology, the project's goal is to provide residents, decision-makers, and researchers with information that can help to proactively plan for future sea level rise (SLR).

The World Bank commissioned this report from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Climate Analytics to synthesize the science and the potential climate impacts on a world without improved mitigation efforts. This report provides a snapshot of recent scientific literature and analysis of likely impacts and risks that would be associated with a 4° Celsius warming within this century, focusing on developing countries and vulnerable populations.

The Association of State Wetland Managers developed this white paper on climate change projections and adaptation recommendations for Michigan wetlands for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. The report describes the natural capital offered by wetlands through ecological services, details the climate change impacts on these services, and offers strategies to use wetlands as tools for climate mitigation and adaptation.

The City of Flagstaff, Arizona completed a study that assesses 115 of the City’s critical operations that have been impacted by climate. Conducted by a team of City staff and regional partners (the "Core Team"), the study recommends an overarching policy aimed to increase protection and resilience within municipal operations to hazards - including fire, severe winter storms, drought, floods, and more.

The Pacific Northwest Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment, a project undertaken by the University of Washington and other collaborators, provides information on the likely effects of climate change on species and ecosystems in the region. The assessment involves scientists, natural resource managers, and conservation planners, and covers an area that extends beyond the borders of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho both south into the U. S. and north into Canada. The assessment contains four main component projects including a sensitivity database, case studies, habitat suitability modeling, and species population modeling.

The Ecosystem Assessment and Reporting (EAR) Tool provides standard ecoregional status measures in a GIS-based tool to integrate data across the Inter-American Biodiversity Information Network Thematic Networks (TN). This tool seeks to maximize the information available in the Inter-American Biodiversity Information Network Ecosystems and Protected Areas TNs, by providing conservation decision makers products for assessing the extent of ecosystems under effective conservation, offering direction on where to work and what actions may be needed to improve biodiversity conservation.

The North Carolina Interagency Leadership Team (ILT) - a group of 11 state and federal agencies - developed this coordinated climate adaptation strategy providing a framework for planning an integrated climate adaptation response for North Carolina. The report discusses how the state can proactively prepare for projected impacts of climate variability and weather extremes, with the emphasis on practical, economically feasible options that can be undertaken by state agencies, working with willing partners at local, regional, and federal levels.

The '2012 Vulnerability and Adaptation Study' is California's third major assessment on climate change. California produces periodic scientific assessments on the potential impacts of climate change on the state, and reports potential adaptation responses. Required by Executive Order #S-03-05, these assessments influence legislation and inform policy makers. The Third California Climate Change Assessment is a compilation of 37 reports which outline local and statewide vulnerabilities to climate change, for the energy, water, agriculture, public health, coastal, transportation, and ecological resource sectors.
