Adaptation Case Study and Information Exchange

Developed under the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Climate Ready Water Utilities (CRWU) initiative, the Adaptation Case Study and Information Exchange is a website featuring climate change adaptation strategies that water sector utilities are deploying across the country. The website has an interactive map linking to case studies produced by the EPA. Each point on the map represents a drinking water, wastewater, or combined utility that provides the climate threats facing the utility, as well as the corresponding adaptation measures that the utility considered for implementation.

Workshop Planner for Climate Change and Extreme Events Adaptation

The Workshop Planner for Climate Change and Extreme Events Adaptation, created by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), provides guidance  for drinking water and wastewater utilities, and other water sector stakeholders in organizing climate change adaptation workshops. The Planner is  an online, interactive four-step process designed to help practitioners tailor information to their location and unique needs. The website also provides templates for workshop materials; climate science resources; and links to federal adaptation funding resources that support community level water conservation, green infrastructure, and sustainable development projects.

Climate Resilience Evaluation and Awareness Tool (CREAT) Projected Scenarios

This website describes the scenarios used for the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Climate Resilience Evaluation and Awareness Tool (CREAT), a tool to help water and wastewater utilities prepare for climate change. The tool includes a map that shows projected climate change across the U. S. The map is separated into grids (roughly 32 x 32 miles). Each grid displays projections for annual total precipitation, annual average temperature, and precipitation intensity for the 100-year storm.
