Climate Ready Estuaries 2012 Progress Report

January 2013

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Climate Ready Estuaries (CRE) program supports climate change adaptation activities in the National Estuary Programs (NEPs) and the coastal management community. In 2008–2011, CRE sponsored 31 projects with 19 different NEPs. In 2012, CRE supported another 6  projects, including work with 4 new NEPs.

EPA Climate Ready Estuaries Rolling Easements Primer

June 2011

Developed through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Climate Ready Estuaries program, this primer identifies approaches for inland migration of beaches and wetlands as sea level rises due to climate change. The report describes how these measures can be used by state and local governments in cases where traditional protective measures such as the construction of dikes, seawalls, and other structures may prove economically or environmentally unsustainable.

Climate Ready Estuaries 2009 Progress Report

2009

This report details progress made in the Climate Ready Estuaries (CRE) program from its inception, in 2008, through 2009. CRE, in partnership with the National Estuaries Program (NEP), is helping estuaries assess their vulnerability to climate change impacts, engage stakeholders and develop monitoring and adaptation plans. Together with the 2010 CRE Progress Report, these reports provide a summary on the design and accomplishments of CRE to date, as well as next steps.
