American Society of Adaptation Professionals (ASAP)
The American Society of Adaptation Professionals (ASAP) is an association that brings together the leading professionals from a variety of sectors working to increase climate resilience across the U.S. The Georgetown Climate Center and ASAP partnered to develop an ASAP member portal on the Clearinghouse designed to provide a one-stop-shop to help members find resources popular among other ASAP professionals, along with resources highlighted in ASAP newsletters, produced by ASAP members, or featured in ASAP webinars.

The American Planning Association (APA), with 38,000 members in more than 100 countries, is a professional association that represents urban planning professionals in the United States. The APA serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas related to urban planning and its Web site provides access to numerous resources related to climate change and its impacts in urban environments. Through its Hazard Planning Center, APA offers information on practices to promote resilience and reduce regional and local impacts of natural disasters.

American Public Health Association (APHA)
APHA is concerned with the public health implications of climate change - from effects on drinking water supply, to changes in vector-borne diseases, to extreme weather events. They have a particular focus on the adverse effects to vulnerable populations and sensitive communities. APHA advocates for climate change and transportation policies that promote public health and the environment; linking transportation choices and climate change, and supporting a role for public health in climate change prevention and response.

The coalition seeks to advance national solutions that support flood-affected communities and protect our nation’s residents, economy, and military installations.

American Forests, the oldest national nonprofit conservation organization in the country, advocates for the protection and expansion of America’s forests. This advocacy, guided by science, is to keep policymakers informed about how trees interact with climate, sequester carbon, manage water, and benefit cities - acknowledging that ecological services from trees and forests have real economic value. American Forests works in and advocates for federal, state, and urban forests, and sometimes beyond US borders as well.

Anne Arundel County, Maryland Resilience Authority
Anne Arundel County, Maryland created its County Resilience Authority in 2022, which has the power to “undertake, manage, acquire, own, convey, and support resilience infrastructure projects.” The Resilience Authority may also sell bonds for resilience infrastructure projects. Each issuance of the bonds must include a bond transaction resolution that specifies the public purpose of the project, the maximum principal amount of the bonds, and appropriate terms and conditions.

American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO)
AASTHO is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association representing highway and transportation departments in the 50 states, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. It represents all five transportation modes: air, highways, public transportation, rail, and water. AASHTO serves as a liaison between state departments of transportation and the Federal government, and provides technical leadership and assistance to states. AASHTO's policy development, standards setting, and technical activities are the product of volunteer state department of transportation personnel who work through the organization's committee structure.
