U.S. Forest Service (USFS) National Roadmap for Responding to Climate Change

July 2010

The National Roadmap for Responding to Climate Change, provided through the U. S. Forest Service Climate Change Resource Center (CCRC), is a guide for forest managers to "prepare their forests for the effects of climate change while enhancing their water resources. " The guide focuses on three types of activities: assessing current risks, vulnerabilities, policies, and gaps in knowledge; engaging partners in seeking solutions and learning from as well as educating the public and employees on climate change issues; and managing for resilience, in ecosystems as well as in human communities, through adaptation, mitigation, and sustainable consumption strategies.

California Department of Water Resources Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) Climate Change Document Clearinghouse

The Department of Water Resources' IRWM planning guidelines require the inclusion of climate change considerations in IRWM planning analyses. In an effort to assist Integrated Resources Water Management (IRWM) practitioners, the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) developed a listing of climate change documents relevant to IRWM planning.

Climate Change Action Plan for the Florida Reef System 2010 - 2015

June 2010

A product of The Nature Conservancy's Florida Reef Resilience Program (FRRP), this action plan was developed by reef managers, scientists and reef users from across South Florida as a guide for better coordination of reef management across local, state, and federal jurisdictions. It serves as a more detailed, Florida-specific companion to the climate change goals and objectives in the report “NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program Goals & Objectives 2010-2015” (NOAA CRCP 2009).

Climate Adaptation Priorities for the Western States: Scoping Report

June 2010

The Western Governors Association's Climate Adaptation Work Group's first task was to develop this scoping report in an effort to identify state and regional priorities for planning and adapting to a changing climate. Three specific goals were identified for further discussion: 1) foster coordination on adaptation activities, particularly between state and federal efforts; 2) identify key science needs for Western states; and 3) begin to share smart practices among states. This report focuses on priority actions that could help states adequately plan for and improve resiliency to a changing climate.

Broward County, Florida Climate Change Action Plan

Developed by the Broward County Climate Change Task Force, the Climate Change Action Plan is a set of 126 recommended short, medium and long-term actions, that combined, form a coordinated countywide strategy for both mitigating and adapting to climate change. The recommendations include information on planning horizon, status of action, likely responsible County entity, potential community partners, estimated resources required, and recommended performance measures.
