Natural Capital Project: InVEST - Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Trade-offs modeling tools
The Natural Capital Project (NatCap) offers software tools that quantify, map, and value services provided by nature, including “InVEST” - Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Trade-offs - which is a suite of software models used to map and value ecosystem services. The toolset currently includes 18 distinct InVEST models suited to terrestrial, freshwater, coastal and marine ecosystems - and can be downloaded for free from NatCap's website.

First Order Fire Effects Model (FOFEM)

This is a model that can be used to predict first-order fire effects, or the immediate consequences of a fire, for both prescribed burning and wildfires. This tool is designed to help land managers assess fire impacts and severity, plan effective and useful prescribed fires, and for other uses. The metrics used to determine consequences are tree mortality, fuel consumption, emissions/smoke production, and soil heating. From an adaptation perspective, this tool may be useful to support forest impact assessments pertaining to wildfires.

This publicly available mapping tool shows disadvantaged communities of California, in funding areas as recognized pursuant to California Proposition 1 and Proposition 84.

U.S. Department of Transportation CMIP Climate Data Processing Tool

The U. S. Department of Transportation's Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP) Climate Data Processing Tool provides readily available downscaled climate data in a format that is relevant and useful for transportation planners at a local level. The tool, which is in Excel format, processes raw climate model output to produce projections that are meaningful for transportation planners to consider design or operational changes needed to create transportation infrastructure and services that are more resilient to climate change impacts.

New York Climate Change Science Clearinghouse: Tools to Help Communities Prepare for Extreme Weather

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has launched the New York Climate Change Science Clearinghouse - a website for climate-related information including flood maps, data on sea level and temperature changes, and other information to aid in planning for future extreme weather events. Developed by New York State in partnership with federal, university and public-private organizations, the Clearinghouse provides access to more than 1,000 maps, data sets, and documents that show the impacts of climate change on infrastructure, transportation, energy, water resources, ecosystems, agriculture and public health.

Global Precipitation Climatology Project V2.3 Precipitation
April 2016
Global Precipitation Climatology Project monthly precipitation dataset from 1979 to present combines precipitation data from ground and satellite observations into 2.5 degree x 2.5 degree global grids. The dataset gives both monthly values from January 1979 through March 2017, and long term monthly means derived from years 1981 through 2010.
