'Adapting to Sea Level Rise: A Guide for California’s Coastal Communities' was created to serve as a guide for California’s coastal managers and community planners to develop adaptation plans for sea level rise (SLR) that are suited to their local conditions and communities. The guide begins with background information about climate change and SLR, and an explanation of why planners in coastal communities should begin to plan for SLR and the associated coastal hazards. The remaining sections describe the processes of performing SLR vulnerability assessments and risk analysis for the development of adaptation plans that can be tailored specifically to individual communities.

The database targets regional planners and managers within the Eastern region (South Carolina to Maine, including West Virginia and Ohio) by offering information to plan climate-related projects and programs. The website catalogues state-level needs for climate information, directs users to useful data, products and services, and maintains record of planned and ongoing projects within the associated states.

The EAP merges short-term goals and action steps (FY-2009-2011) approved by the City Council in January 2009, with new mid- and long-range goals and actions (2012-2030).

Climate Change and Massachusetts Fish and Wildlife Reports
April 2010
In April 2010, the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (MassWildlife) and Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences published a series of three reports that address the impact of climate change on ecosystems and species. Funded by the Wildlife Conservation Society and the Doris Duke Foundation, the objective was to make "climate-smart" the State's existing State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP). The SWAP provides a roadmap for the conservation of wildlife and habitat in the state, including 22 critical habitat types and 257 priority animals in need of conservation action.
