Climate Change Impact on Forest Resources in California
March 2006
This study, produced by the California Climate Change Center, evaluates the impact of climate change on California’s forest resources by developing a case study for a mixed conifer forest in the northern Sierra Nevada. The research utilized data-driven modeling tools to project the effect of a changing climate on forest growth, forest yield, and tree mortality.

Climate Change Impacts on Water for Agriculture in California: A Case Study in the Sacramento Valley
March 2006
This study presents an application of the Water Evaluation and Planning (WEAP) system for California's Sacramento River Basin. The WEAP modeling system was used to evaluate the impact of four future climate scenarios on agricultural water management in the region, and to investigate whether water management adaptation could reduce potential impacts. This paper demonstrates how internalizing adaptation in a model that includes both the hydrologic and water management conditions associated with climate change can help assess potential tradeoffs in multi-objective water management systems.

Sea Level Rise in the Treasure Coast Region (Florida)
December 5, 2005
This report was prepared by the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council in southeast Florida to support the EPA's national effort encouraging local government long-term planning for and awareness of sea-level rise. Mapping tools were used to distinguish areas of the Treasure Coast region likely to be protected from erosion, inundation, and flooding, from those areas where natural shoreline retreat is likely to take place. Results presented in this report are intended to stimulate local government planners and citizens in the region to think about the problems associated with sea-level rise, diminish loss of life and property from coastal hazards, and to ensure the long-term survival of coastal wetlands.

South Florida Sea Level Rise Project Final Report
September 2005
This report presents the results of a study conducted by the South Florida Regional Planning Council (SFRPC) to distinguish areas that are likely to experience erosion, inundation and flooding due to sea level rise in the region. The Study Area included the three counties in the SFRPC’s region: Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe County, Florida.

Report: “Climate Change Will Impact the Seattle Department of Transportation”
August 9, 2005
Seattle’s Office of City Auditor conducted a review of the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) to identify potential operations, services or structures that could be significantly impacted by anticipated changes in the climate of the Pacific Northwest region. The resulting report “Climate Change Will Impact the Seattle Department of Transportation” is designed to assess the potential impacts on Seattle’s transportation operations and infrastructure, raise awareness, and assist policymakers in developing adaptive strategies.

Future Sea Level Rise and the New Jersey Coast
June 2005
This study presents an assessment of potential impacts of sea level rise on the New Jersey coast. Using historical flood data, digital elevation models, and climate change projections, the authors found that sea level rise will submerge 1-3% of coastal lands, and 6. 5-9% of coastal land will be affected by periodic flooding. The study looks at Cape May Point as a case study for potential impacts on socioeconomic and natural resources that would be relevant to other coastal areas. Finally, the authors broadly identify a gradual retreat strategy for adaptation.

Climate Change Risk and Vulnerability: Promoting an Efficient Adaptation Response in Australia
March 2005
Produced for the Australian Greenhouse Office, this assessment was completed in 2005 in order to identify the priorities of the National Climate Change Adaptation Programme. This report explores the risks to Australia from the impacts of climate change over the next 30 to 50 years for Australia's industry and economy, the natural environment, public health, and infrastructure. The report takes a risk management approach to identifying the sectors and regions that might have the highest priority for adaptation planning.

Impact of Climate Change on Road Infrastructure
2004
This study assesses how climate change will affect Australia's road infrastructure on a region-by-region basis. The report downscales global climate projections to Australia's geographically diverse landscape. The report uses these regional climate impacts to determine how road infrastructure will be affected. Aside from the effects of heat on pavement performance and the threat of inundation due to sea-level rise, the report also emphasizes how climate change will affect human migration patterns.
