This report from the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts (WICCI) provides an assessment of climate change impacts and adaptation strategies in Wisconsin. This assessment is written for Wisconsin policy-makers, managers, and decision makers in governmental bodies at all levels, including the state, counties, cities and municipalities. The intended audience also includes any person or organizations with a business, property or place already affected or likely affected by a changing climate.

The Model Forest Policy Program, the Cumberland River Compact, and the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) developed a Climate Adaptation Plan for Whatcom County, Washington, with a focus on resiliency and adaptability of ecosystems in the county and Nooksack River basin. Assessments were conducted on the county’s water, forest, and economic resources, current climate, and potential future climate impacts. The assessments informed a risk analysis that identified Whatcom County’s most vulnerable sectors.

In 2007, the Oregon State Legislature charged the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute (OCCRI), via HB 3543, with assessing climate change science including biological, physical and social science in Oregon, and expected climate impacts. This inaugural assessment report is meant to act as a compendium of the relevant research on climate change and its impacts on the state of Oregon. This report draws on a large body of work on climate change impacts in the western U. S. from the Climate Impacts Group at the University of Washington (CIG), and the California Climate Action Team.

Oregon's Climate Change Adaptation Framework is the result of a collaborative effort between Oregon's state agencies with support from the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute. This report provides a framework for the continued development of strategies and plans to address future climate conditions in the state. Priority climate risks and their respective impacts on key sectors are outlined, followed by over 100 adaptation strategies for near- and long-term planning and implementation.
This framework identifies 11 key risks that are likely to occur.

Executive Order 24 signed by Governor Patterson in August 2009 created the New York Climate Action Council and charged it with creating a Climate Action Plan. This 428 page Interim Report was released in November 2010, indicating the teams are still moving forward on the final plan. Chapter 11 covers the work effort of the Adaptation Technical Working Groups in 8 sectors: Agriculture, Coastal Zones, Ecosystems, Energy, Public Health, Transportation, Telecommunications and Information Infrastructure, and Water.

This report presents climate adaptation strategies for San Luis Obispo County (SLO) with a focus on increasing the resilience of both human and natural communities. The report reflects the collective efforts of many people in SLO, including elected leaders, county planners, land managers, public health officials, concerned citizens, and others who attended four workshops in 2009 - 2010. These meetings were held to discuss the threat of climate change to the community and establish some initial strategies to reduce vulnerability.

The ultimate goal of the Swinomish Climate Change Initiative of the Swinomish Tribal Community was to develop an action plan for the adaptation and mitigation of potential risks and impacts of climate change. Under the guidance and coordination of the Swinomish Office of Planning and Community Development, the first year of the Initiative was devoted to the assessment of projected impacts, as presented in an Impact Assessment Technical Report issued in the fall of 2009. The second year of the project was focused on the evaluation of strategies and options for recommended actions to counter identified impacts, which resulted in the preparation and release of this report.

The result of a project by the Wildlife Conservation Society for the Great Plains Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GP LCC), this report highlights results from a vulnerability assessment of grassland dependent wildlife in the GP LCC geography, with a focus on the species of concern listed in the wildlife action plans of the states within the GP LCC. The assessment team utilized the NatureServe Climate Change Vulnerability Index (CCVI) tool in conducting the assessment (see separate entry for this tool).
