Delaware Sea Grant conducts research in areas ranging from seafood safety to coastal hazards through hands-on research and educational activities, and sharing information on coastal topics with stakeholders. Delaware Sea Grant funds projects for the broad area of Ocean and Environmental Literacy, and more specifically: 1) Healthy Coastal Ecosystems, 2) Sustainable Coastal Development, 3) Safe and Sustainable Seafood Supply, and 4) Hazard Resilience in Coastal Communities.

"In Alaska, President Obama designated the Denali Commission as the lead Federal point of contact for Alaska Native coastal villages affected by coastal erosion, flooding, and related problems driven by climate change. The Commission hosts the first-ever catalog of grants and technical assistance available to Alaska Native villages. To build capacity in rural villages, the Commission is transforming the catalog to make it more accessible for village administrators and has funded project managers or project coordinators in each of the four most imminently threatened communities.

The Eastern Shore Land Conservancy (ESLC) in Maryland has been an active partner in helping rural communities on the Eastern Shore of Maryland adapt to rising sea levels and more intense heavy rainfall events. Maryland’s Eastern Shore along the Chesapeake Bay is one of the most vulnerable regions in the country to future sea-level rise. ESLC is supporting sea-level rise adaptation through strategic land acquisitions to conserve wetlands and natural flood buffers that protect development and agriculture.

The Ecological Society of America (ESA) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of scientists founded in 1915 to promote ecological science by improving communication among ecologists, raise the public's level of awareness of the importance of ecological science, increase the resources available for the conduct of ecological science, and ensure the appropriate use of ecological science in environmental decision making by enhancing communication between the ecological community and policy-makers.

The Florida Center for Environmental Studies (CES) is a state university research center established in 1994, working in the broad field of the management of tropical and subtropical freshwater, estuarine and coastal ecosystems and in related information technology worldwide. At the request of the Florida Department of Transportation, the Center is currently developing a methodology for the assessment and mitigation of sea level rise impacts on Florida's transportation modes and infrastructure.

The Florida Coastal and Ocean Coalition is a group of organizations working together to conserve, protect and restore Florida's coastal and marine environment. The Coalition emphasizes the implementation of an ecosystem-based approach to coastal and ocean management, as well as recognition of the important linkage between the health of Florida's economy and the health of its beaches and dunes, coral reefs, mangroves, sea grasses, wetlands and other natural resources. The Coalition calls on Florida's Governor, State Agencies, Cabinet, and Legislature for action and leadership to achieve the goal of healthy ocean and coastal ecosystems.

The Florida Reef Resilience Program is a public and private partnership which brings scientists, reef managers and the people whose livelihoods and recreational pursuits depend upon healthy coral reefs together to achieve a common goal. The program is designed to improve the collective understanding of coral reef resilience by exploring the biological and environmental aspects of reef health, developing strategies to improve the health of Florida's reefs, and enhancing the sustainability of reef-dependent commercial enterprises and recreational activities.

The nonpartisan Georgetown Climate Center seeks to advance effective climate and energy policies in the United States and serves as a resource to state and local communities that are working to cut carbon pollution and prepare for climate change. As part of Georgetown Law, the Center works extensively with government officials, academics, and an array of stakeholders. It analyzes the provisions of federal policy relevant to state and local government, works with states on developing innovative new policies, and encourages policymakers to learn from state experience.

Georgia Sea Grant combines research, education, and outreach projects that promote the economic, cultural and and environmental health of Georgia’s coast and encourages citizens throughout the state to become good stewards of coastal and watershed resources. Over half of Georgia Sea Grant's funds go directly into scientific research on Georgia's coastal resources. Specific thematic areas include water quality, coastal ecosystem health, and fisheries technology.
